Week 17 -Online week 10: 18/1/2021

This week we looked at S-log with Attila (A digital technique that preserves details in both shadows and highlights). Went over how to produce a news project with Nargess. We also took a look at the structure and timings of a news show and applied it to our plans.

Week 15 -Online week 8: 4/1/2021

Prior to this week I worked closely with Gareth and Adam to produce the first and final edit of the Top Gear intro. Attila took us through deep focus and shallow focus which made me look at a few shots a bit differently. Nargess introduced us to unit 10 and what we have to do. Nick made us create a presentation about the capitol building riots and Simon gave us time to brainstorm ideas for our news show. We chose to do a Dnd news show based on real events like covid and riots.

Week 13 -Practical week 6: 7/12/2020

I was kept home again this week, so I decided to get to work with creating the first edit of the promotional video. I think this turned out well and I have sent it out to the rest of my group for feedback. Adam also created most of the silhouettes for the intro and Charlie did a test recording of the voiceover.

Week 11 -Practical week 5: 23/11/2020

Once again I was kept home from college due to Covid-19. I used this time to start work on my research paper. Following Nicks help from last week, I decided to write it on becoming a script/screenwriter. So I started to look at jobs sites to see the skills and requirements they were looking for.

Week 10 -Online week 5: 16/11/2020

This week we were back on zoom and for the most part we continued with unit 11. With Attila we covered Dias Irae, which is a film scoring easter egg that a lot of films use. Nargess gave us an overview of how to write a CV, Nick went over our promo ideas and gave me a place to start with my research paper.

Week 9 -Practical week 4: 9/11/2020

This week was a bit different than the previous practical weeks. This was because I wasn’t actually in college, this was due to a decision made by my parents. The reasoning was down to Covid-19 cases rising in our area and the my Mum is shielding/Clinically vulnerable. However, I still want to continue on with the course so when I was informing my tutors, I asked if there was any catch-up work I needed to do. Nargess gave me an idea for unit 10 about being interviewed on the news program, Attila gave me the class PowerPoint of this week which was on broadcast standards. Nick gave me a full rundown of the brief for the promotional advert which I had missed, so I began to communicate with my group (Gareth Edwards, Adam Vincent, Ellie Simpson, Jack Harper and Charlie Gentle) about the project. I also began work on my research paper.
